About Ian
Ian started his working life with KMPG, progressing to a financial controller role with Mars in the late 1990s. He then pivoted to a career in management consultancy, with an increasing emphasis, on how the human dimensions of business drive performance.
He has a passion for empowering people to solve problems and to recognise their expertise. He’s often found facilitating others, developing ideas, and building community. He loves working with people and data, to create simplicity from complexity.
Ian’s recent work is heavily influenced by the idea that work is much simpler when we understand the nature of the system and people we are working with.
Walking away from a misfiring IT project in 2019, Ian decided to become part of the solution and offer ways to effect real, sustainable, and effective change for people. His search led him to start working with several key partners in this area. The power of building effective teams has become a recurring and emergent theme in his work.
Humotion brings Ian’s journey from numbers to process to people full circle. Integrating all those elements, it is helping him to achieve his aim of activating humanity in business.
